And where does spreading lies (baseless rumors == lies!) in an attempt to
manipulate the stock market -- even if legal -- fall on the ethical scale? Somewhere south of ZERO. If Cramer's and other folks' best excuse is that such behavior is legal, than they and their ilk (including complicit networks) are sorry specimens indeed. How many retirements and lives have been utterly wrecked by this sort of reasoning -- and the laws and regulators who have permitted it? Does it stop now? Do we stop it? Or once the stock market is back up a few more hundred points, do things go back to "business as usual" once again? Enough is enough of such ethically vacuous and yes, *evil* behavior. --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein lauren@vortex.com Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 http://www.pfir.org/lauren Co-Founder, PFIR - People For Internet Responsibility - http://www.pfir.org Co-Founder, NNSquad - Network Neutrality Squad - http://www.nnsquad.org Founder, GCTIP - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance - http://www.gctip.org Founder, PRIVACY Forum - http://www.vortex.com Member, ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Lauren's Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com -------------------------------------------
