They are battling over whether to allow snooping for commercial purposes on the one hand, while screeching to high heaven when it’s government wanting to “supervise” Internet activity for the purposes of crime prevention. The latter leads to concerns over whether it’s appropriate to allow government to allow us any vestiges of privacy. Given the current sentiment in Congress over whether or not we “need” controls, can we see where we’re likely to be going on this one? Norman |
