Dear Dave,

According to the terms of service, Amazon was required to maintain
Justin Gawronski's work product regardless of
their actions in removing 1984.

That alone would give Justin a fairly good reason to sue. However,
according to the The Register, the notes were not
actually destroyed as they were kept in a different file.  Justin is
suing anyway since he feels that the notes have been rendered useless by
not having the companion e-text to reference, which is a far more subtle
point than Amazon actually deleting Justin's notes.
