We can still read what we bought. We can re-download what we bought.

But when I tried to see the "detail page" for a Kindle book I bought at Amazon.com that bears a Macmillan imprint, the detail page was not there. I could find the detail page for the print editions and the audiobook, and I am sure I could have bought those. But the paperback edition page said, "Tell the Publisher! I’d like to read this book on Kindle"--a message that is usually reserved for books that never were available for Kindle.

One question:  did Amazon yank the books off everyone's Kindle that had purchased them?  Are Macmillian e-book "owners" (er, licensees) now screwed if they need to reload their Kindle because these books aren't on Amazon's service anymore? [snip]
